Movers in Ballston Spa, NY

Ballston Spa is the old county seat, the walkable village southwest of Saratoga Springs where Front Street and Milton Avenue still line up with the tight Victorians and two-family houses that have stood since the spring-water boom. The narrow lots and steep porch stairs here are nothing like a new Wilton cul-de-sac, and that is exactly the kind of move our crew was built for. Pete grew up reading the rhythm of these upstate villages, and since 2014 the Haul of Fame crew has carried furniture out of half the houses between Bath Street and the Kayaderosseras. We map every Ballston Spa job the same way: one flat written rate, set before a single box leaves the porch.

Getting Trucks In and Out

Ballston Spa runs on Route 50 and Route 67, with Milton Avenue and Front Street carrying the village traffic and the Exit 12 corridor tying it back to the Northway. Our crew reaches the village in about fifteen minutes down Route 50 from our Saratoga Springs yard. The thing we plan around is the tight downtown grid: a 26-foot truck does not fit every Front Street curb, so we often stage on the cross street and dolly in, and we reserve a spot ahead when a move sits on a busy block.

For village two-family and porch-stair moves: The old Front Street and Bath Street houses run tall on thin lots, with steep porch steps and narrow center-hall stairs that ask for real care. Tell us it is a village Victorian when you call and we bring the extra padding, the stair runners, and a four-person crew, so your antique dresser comes down the porch clean and your written rate never moves.

What Makes a Ballston Spa Move Different

The village swings from 1800s two-families on Front Street to newer two-stories out Charlton Road, so no two jobs match. Common requests our Ballston Spa customers bring us include:

  1. Upright pianos eased down steep porch stairs and out of tight village doorways (about $320 to $490 upright, $580 to $900 baby grand)
  2. Antiques, marble-top dressers, and oversized mirrors out of the old Victorians that need careful padding on narrow stairs
  3. Winter moves where we shovel the walk, salt the porch steps, and lay floor protection against road salt and slush on both ends
  4. Two-family and upstairs-apartment loads where we stage the truck and dolly the heavy pieces up the cross street
  5. Young families upsizing from a village rental to a Charlton Road house, where our crew runs two Ballston Spa addresses in a single day

Because school timing and home closings set the pace, local moves stack hard into late spring and summer, and the August racing crowd tightens the whole county calendar. Book ahead to lock your date and crew size before peak fills, and ask about heated, climate-controlled storage at roughly $95 to $265 a month if your closing slides or your village move-in window shifts into the cold months.

We used Haul of Fame to move a small warehouse and office into a new facility and into storage. The movers arrived on-time and on-schedule (which was not trivial given the condition of the roads after the late January ice storm), and were friendly and professional. They moved everything out of the existing facility within 2 hours and delivered immediately to the new facility as instructed. Unfortunately, there was a mixup in the furniture delivered - they delivered the equipment boxes, but sent the laboratory benches we needed to storage. We caught the mistake after the delivery, and contacted them immediately, but we did not get our lab benches until 6 days after the move. That's the only reason for the rating.
